One Direction star Niall Horan has confirmed he will again be taking part in the pro-am prior to the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth in May.
Horan helped attract vast galleries to the event last year when he teed up alongside good friend Rory McIlroy, having caddied for him during the par-three contest on the eve of the Masters the previous month.
The Irishman is well known as an avid golfer and is an honorary life member of Mullingar Golf Club in County Westmeath, and he is looking forward to teaming up with former US Open champion Justin Rose on the West Course this year.
"Playing in the BMW PGA Championship Celebrity Pro-am last year was incredible and I can't wait to be involved again," said Horan, who is hoping the experience of playing with McIlroy last year will help him combat any first-tee nerves.
"Hitting my tee shot off the first in front of so many people was probably one of the most nerve-wracking things I've ever done, but once that was out of the way I relaxed and we had a laugh.
"Justin has become a great friend over the last few years and I can't wait to play alongside him."
Tournament director Jamie Birkmyre added: "We are delighted that Niall has decided to come back and play in the Celebrity Pro-Am and it's great he is helping to attract a younger audience to our sport.
"The team will no doubt be one of the star attractions of the day and a host of other big names will also be teeing it up, so keep an eye on europeantour.com for news.
"The Pro-Am day has grown and grown in recent years, and it's one of the highlights of the sporting calendar. Having superstars such as Niall and Justin involved is really helping us grow the game and reach a wider audience.
"The Pro-Am is a brilliant day out for all the family and we have some great deals on advance-purchase tickets, plus entry is free for under-16s."
Horan and Rose will also host a private charity event over the final weekend of May - the Horan & Rose Gala Dinner and Golf Day - which will raise money for Cancer Research UK Kids and Teens, which is also the official charity for the BMW PGA Championship.
