Emily Kristine Pedersen secured her maiden Ladies European Tour title with a wire-to-wire victory at the Hero Women's Indian Open.

The Dane narrowly missed out on victory at last month's Ladies Open de France but made no mistake this time around, with a one-over 73 enough to finish one clear of nearest challengers Malene Jorgensen, Becky Morgan and Cheyenne Woods.

Final leaderboard

E Emily Kristine Pedersen (Dnk)
+1 Cheyenne Woods (USA)
+1 Malene Jorgensen (Den)
+1 Becky Morgan (Wal)
+2 Liz Young (Eng)
+4 Giulia Sergas (Ita)
Others +8 Gwladys Nocera (Fra)
+10 Georgia Hall (Eng)
+12 Melissa Reid (Eng)

Pedersen was the only player not to end the week over par after three challenging rounds at DLF Golf and Country Club's 'Black Knight' course, although could have won by a more convincing margin had it not been for a nervy finish that saw her close with back-to-back bogeys.

"It's amazing and I'm so happy," Pedersen said. "The course has been a big challenge for us. My game has been very good, very steady. I didn't make any huge mistakes and I kept focused all day.

"I made a bogey on 17 and I was kind of getting a flash back, so I'm happy it didn't happen again and I could win.

"I was thinking about the play-off after 17, but my caddie Mikey Curry kept me going and focused on my own shots."

Beginning one-shot clear, Pedersen immediately lost her overnight advantage to Woods after a three-putt bogey at the first but pulled level with the American thanks to an eight-foot gain at the par-five eighth.

Woods had surged into the lead with three birdies in her first six holes and was out in front again after another on the 11th, but bogeyed the 14th and ran up a double-bogey seven on the last.

That left the outcome between Pedersen and Morgan, who both bogeyed the last after Morgan had missed a short birdie putt on the 17th.

"I had a really good chance on the last two holes so I'm a little bit disappointed," Morgan said. "I'm fairly happy with the way I played, I just left some putts out there that didn't get to the hole.

"It's okay finishing second but I wish I'd have won."
