Coventry leave it late

Dominic Samuel and Frank Nouble struck late on to secure Coventry a dramatic 2-0 victory at play-off chasing Fleetwood.

Tony Mowbray's side scored twice in the last three minutes to give their League One survival hopes a major boost. Coventry played the better football in a goalless first half. Dominic Samuel, on loan from Reading, came closest for the Sky Blues with a dipping 20-yard drive that was tipped over by Chris Maxwell. At the other end Fleetwood almost took advantage of a rare set piece with Stephen Schumacher's corner finding the head of Jamie Proctor, but Chris Stokes was on the line to keep the scores level. In the second half Frank Nouble curled an effort narrowly wide before Marcus Tudgay was then picked out by Adam Barton's pass but his shot was straight into the body of a grateful Maxwell. Fleetwood's goalkeeper was called into action again when a sliced clearance from skipper Mark Roberts looked momentarily goalbound but Maxwell got to the ball ahead of substitute Jim O'Brien. Town had the woodwork to thank when Stokes, having just seen a shot tipped wide by Maxwell, headed against the bar following a corner. But there was no saving them when Samuel charged in from the right flank and slotted low under the body of Maxwell. And four minutes into added time a calamity clearance from Maxwell slammed into the body of Nouble, who got to the loose ball after it came back off the post and sealed a huge three points.
