Nambia pick up first point

Guinea sealed their passage into the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations after a 1-1 draw with Nambia. The point proved enough for Guinea after Morocco's defeat to Ghana in the other clash in Group A. After a dour first half the game burst into life just past the hour mark when Souleymane Youla converted Dioulde Bah's pass to open the scoring. Namibia drew level nine minutes from time with a fine solo strike from Brian Brendell. Brendell weaved his way past a couple of challenges before drilling his shot into the bottom corner of the net from the edge of the box. Nambia pushed forward for a winner, but Guinea held on for the draw to see them progress. The draw was Nambia's first point in the tournament as they bowed out.
