Canaries terminate front-man's contract

Czech striker David Strihavka has left Norwich after his contract was terminated by the Championship club. The 24-year-old signed for the Canaries in July but has failed to make a significant impact since joining from Banik Ostrava for an initial £240,000. Former Norwich boss Peter Grant made the signing, but after making just three starts and eight substitute appearances the Czech front-man has found himself surplus to requirements at Carrow Road. Canaries boss Glenn Roeder told the club's official website: "It's disappointing that it hasn't worked out but it's always a gamble when signing players from abroad - sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesn't. "David found it difficult to adjust while in England and we would like to wish him the best of luck in his future career."
Unlikely
Roeder is currently looking to add to his Norwich squad in an attempt to steer them clear of the relegation zone. The former Newcastle boss has admitted that Bulgarian international target Valentin Iliev is unlikely to join the Canaries. "He's a decent player," he said. "He's performed well in practice and in a practice game - but unfortunately because of work permit issues he's unlikely to join us."
