Gary Neville thinks Jose Mourinho will be disappointed with the current side's inability to see out games

Gary Neville says Jose Mourinho will be "devastated" that Manchester United have a "softness" that is being exposed too often.

Manchester United drew their third Premier League game in a row on Sunday as they were pegged back late on by Everton.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic had put United ahead just before half-time, but Leighton Baines levelled with an 89th-minute penalty after substitute Marouane Fellaini fouled Idrissa Gueye.

"It got to 85 minutes and you knew it was a big moment," said former United defender Neville on Nissan Super Sunday. "It's not a one off, it's getting to the stage where you are saying is that what they are, because they have done it so many times.

"Jose Mourinho will be losing faith in the sense they are playing quite well - although they didn't play brilliantly today - but not seeing it out. You have to see it out. That's the disappointment.

"It's a repeat of what has happened in the last few weeks. In the last 20 minutes it was set up perfectly for a counter attack and to make it 2-0, but they didn't have the quality and precision to get out quickly with the first pass out of defence."

Speaking after the match at Goodison Park, Mourinho said he does not feel his team are getting the results they deserve for how well they are playing.

But although Neville sees signs of improvement from United, he said Mourinho will be "devastated that his team have a softness to them and can't see games out".

"That is a manager who has been the best in the last 10 years at seeing games out and getting results and making sure his team don't concede with five minutes to go," Neville added. "At the moment they don't represent him in terms of what he normally delivers.

"He will defend his team but he will be disappointed. He is four months in at a club where there has been three years of signing players they shouldn't have done, of some disappointment, lacking confidence, and he has to change it around.

"It's maybe going to take longer than he originally thought, maybe longer than he normally takes, but I can see certain things happening that are better than last season."
