England Women head coach Phil Neville says his decision to move to women's football is the 'best thing' he has ever done

England Women head coach Phil Neville says his current squad are the "most incredible human beings" he has ever worked with in football.

The former Manchester United and Everton defender says he has no regrets about his move into women's football and is continually inspired by the dedication of his players.

"It is the best thing I have ever done," said Neville. "It is great that the players ask me that every camp - 'how are you enjoying it boss?'

"I tell them the same because I'm working with the most incredible human beings that I've ever worked with, and I've worked with the best players in the world on the men's side."

Neville added: "As a coach, your job is to inspire.

England came from behind to beat Brazil in their opening game at the SheBelieves Cup and next face World Cup winners the United States on Saturday in arguably their toughest game at the tournament.

The Lionesses lost 1-0 to the States in Neville's third game in charge 12 months ago and the former defender is hoping to see an improved performance from his side this weekend.

"It never really let me down that game, it was the game where I learnt the most about my players," said Neville.

"We're now 12 months on and I need to see if they've learned their lessons, if they've improved their standards, because the USA are the benchmark.

"They are the world champions, they've got a great history in the women's game and as the No 1 team in the world, you're there to be shot at.

"Tomorrow will be another opportunity for my ambitious, determined, confident set of players to go out there and showcase their skills against the best."
