Hunt and Roberson goals send United into third

Dundee United moved into third spot in the SPL with a 2-0 win over St Mirren at Tannadice. Goals from Noel Hunt and Jordan Robertson were enough to give Craig Levein's men their third successive win. St Mirren finished the game with ten men after Franco Miranda was red carded midway through the second half. United broke the deadlock on 38 minutes when Robertson's shot broke off the unlucky Miranda and into the path of Hunt, who skilfully rounded goalkeeper Chris Smith before rolling the ball into the empty net. St Mirren suffered a blow on 67 minutes when Miranda was sent off for a second bookable offence after bringing down United midfielder Barry Robson. Dundee United made their numerical advantage count almost immediately with Robertson converting Steven Robb's cross.
