Manager Aitor Karanka will be missing when promotion-chasing Middlesbrough travel to struggling Charlton in the Sky Bet Championship on Sunday, live on Sky Sports 1 HD from 3.20pm.
Karanka was involved in a furious bust-up with his players, Sky sources understand, and did not take training on Saturday, the club later confirming assistant Steve Agnew would instead take charge at The Valley.
Agnew should be able to call on captain Grant Leadbitter for the trip to south-east London after he made a full recovery from his recent hamstring strain.
But defender Daniel Ayala is set to miss out again as he undergoes more tests on a problematic hamstring of his own.
Relegation strugglers Charlton will be without Yaya Sanogo through suspension.
Sanogo, on loan from Arsenal, starts a three-match ban after he was dismissed for an off-the-ball elbow on Antony Kay in Tuesday's 0-0 draw with MK Dons.
Goalkeeper Stephen Henderson will be assessed after missing two games due to a dead leg, with Nick Pope on standby to deputise again.
Alou Diarra, Chris Solly, Igor Vetokele, Patrick Bauer, Johnnie Jackson, and Ahmed Kashi remain injury doubts but Harry Lennon has completed a three-match ban.
Watch Charlton v Middlesbrough live on Sky Sports 1 HD from 3.20pm on Sunday.
