Jamille Matt was happy to get off the mark in Fleetwood colours at the weekend - albeit in fortuitous fashion.
Matt, a prodigious scorer at non-league level, became the Cod Army's record signing when he completed the switch from Kidderminster earlier this month. And he opened his account in League Two at the second time of asking, setting Graham Alexander's side on their way to a 3-0 win after Oxford defender Michael Raynes fired a clearance into the striker before watching the ball fly into the top corner. "It was a lucky goal and I will be the first to admit it," Matt told Fleetwood's official website. "It was one of those that I didn't think I could really celebrate, but I will take it and it will put a bit of confidence in me because now I have got that weight off my shoulders of getting the first goal. So I'll look now to try and carry on and get a few more. "As a striker, the first thing that you could look for is goals. When I was at Kidderminster, I went on a run of scoring goals and that is what I have been signed up to do here and as long as I am here, I will be looking to do that."New boy happy with Matt finish
