It may have been a mixed display for England as they beat Portugal, but history suggests Roy Hodgson is unlikely to make any changes to his side for their opening Euro 2016 game against Russia - unless he is forced to do so.
England laboured to a 1-0 victory at Wembley on Thursday night, as Chris Smalling's late header made it three wins out of three in their warm-up games.
Despite the victory, England's performance was patchy and, in particular, the front three of Wayne Rooney, Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy appeared to struggle in Hodgson's system.
If the last two tournaments are anything to go by, however, Hodgson is likely to name the same starting XI in Marseille on Saturday night as he did at Wembley.
On both occasions, the England boss has made just one change between the side that started the last warm-up friendly and the first game of the competition - and both times they were enforced.
Ahead of the last World Cup, the England boss deployed 10 of the same 11 in the goalless friendly draw with Honduras as he did in their tournament opener against Italy - which they lost 2-1.
The only change saw Raheem Sterling - who was banned and unavailable for the friendly - come into the side for Adam Lallana in Brazil.
England XI 0-0 Honduras (June 7, 2014): Hart, Johnson, Cahill, Jagielka, Baines, Gerrard, Henderson, Lallana, Welbeck, Rooney, Sturridge
England XI 1-2 Italy (June 14, 2014): Hart, Johnson, Cahill, Jagielka, Baines, Gerrard, Henderson, Sterling, Welbeck, Rooney, Sturridge
And ahead of Euro 2012, the only change between the friendly win over Belgium at Wembley and their draw with France in the first game in Ukraine saw Gary Cahill - who picked up an injury and was ruled out of the tournament - drop out for Joleon Lescott.
England XI 1-0 Belgium (June 2, 2012): Hart, Johnson, Cole, Cahill, Terry, Gerrard, Milner, Parker, Young, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Welbeck
England XI 1-1 France (June 11, 2012): Hart, Johnson, Cole, Terry, Lescott, Gerrard, Milner, Parker, Young, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Welbeck
Hodgson was pleased with England's perfect record in their warm-up games, recording 2-1 wins over Turkey and Australia before beating Portugal, but success in pre-tournament friendlies is rarely an indicator of impressive performances in tournaments.
In fact, England are unbeaten in warm-up matches for 26 years. The last defeat came at the hands of Uruguay in 1990 as they were beaten 2-1 at Wembley ahead of the World Cup - which saw the Three Lions record their most impressive display at a major tournament in the last 50 years by making it to the semi-final.
England also suffered a penalty shoot-out defeat ahead of the 1998 World Cup following a goalless draw with Belgium in a warm-up tournament in Morocco - but the game was officially recorded as a draw.
