AFC Wimbledon's three-match winning run in Sky Bet League One came to an end at Burton as David Templeton's first-half goal gave the Brewers a much-needed 1-0 win.
Templeton broke the deadlock just after the half-hour mark when he darted on to a slide rule pass from Kieran Wallace to draw the goalkeeper and prod the ball past him for his first league goal of the season.
It was just reward for a bright opening from the hosts, who had already gone close through Nathan Broadhead and an earlier chance for Templeton.
Nathan Trott in the Wimbledon goal was by far the busier keeper and he also had to fingertip an angled drive from midfielder Ryan Edwards around a post.
Both Broadhead and Liam Boyce had good chances early in the second half to extend the Burton lead but neither could get the better of Trott.
Boyce only found the side-netting when well-placed and Broadhead was not quite able to guide his effort wide of the West Ham loanee.
