Marchisio nets in extra time to secure Coppa Italia progress
Juventus advanced to the Coppa Italia quarter-finals following a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Bologna after extra time.
Juve have been in splendid form in Serie A all season and are currently top of the standings after an unbeaten start, while Bologna are only just above the relegation zone.
However, there was nothing between the sides in an enthralling match that remained goalless at half-time before bursting into life.
Emanuele Giaccherini's wonderful solo effort in the 90th minute looked like it would be enough to take Juve through, only for Andrea Raggi to head home an equaliser in the sixth minute of stoppage time.
An extra half hour would be required to split the teams and it was Juve who struck the decisive blow as Claudio Marchisio's well-taken goal on 103 minutes finally broke Bologna's resistance.
Juventus will face either Roma or Fiorentina in the last eight of the competition.
