Arsenal's Switzerland midfielder Granit Xhaka says he is "very relieved" after learning a knee injury he suffered in training will not rule him out of the World Cup.
Xhaka sustained an injury to his left knee in a challenge while training in heavy rain with his international team-mates in Lugano on Thursday, the Swiss Football Federation said.
But an MRI scan showed he had suffered only a bruise to the bone.
"I'm very relieved," Xhaka said on the Swiss FA website.
He will miss Sunday's friendly with Spain,, which is live on Sky Sports, but is not a doubt for the World Cup
Xhaka is part of coach Vladimir Petkovic's 26-man preliminary squad which also includes Stoke midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri and Arsenal target Stephan Lichtsteiner.
Switzerland begin their World Cup campaign against Brazil on June 17, before facing Serbia and Costa Rica in Group E.
