Rangers caretaker-manager Graeme Murty believes his side can now go all the way in the Scottish Cup after beating Greenock Morton 2-1 in the fifth round of the competition.
Murty, who was placed in temporary charge of Rangers following the dramatic departure of Mark Warburton on Friday night, watched his players avoid an upset against their Championship opponents on Sunday afternoon.
Goals from Kenny Miller and Martyn Waghorn helped Gers come from behind at Ibrox after Michael Tidser had given the visitors a shock early lead.
Rangers will now face Dunfermline or Hamilton Academical in the next round of the cup and Murty sees no reason why the club can't go on and win it, despite the uncertainty surrounding the vacant managerial position at Ibrox.
"It just takes belief, it takes a little bit of luck too - I think you saw that today," Murty said.
"It takes quality, strength in depth, but I think Greenock showed today that with good organisation and good work-rate anything can happen.
"I thought they were fantastic for long periods of the game, they made it really difficult. They have a real togetherness, so you can see why they've had success.
"You can say that to our players, we have to have those attributes and with our quality, I think we can go all the way."
At times Rangers struggled to break down their lower-league opponents, but Murty was pleased with the way his players fought back after going a goal down early on.
"We responded really well to a setback, they scored a great goal, but it took a lot of character for the boys to stand up to it and continue to play," he said.
"If we had been a bit more clinical we could have had a few more goals but we're through the next round of the competition and that's all that matters."
