Celtic and Rangers avoid each other in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals

Glasgow rivals Celtic and Rangers have been kept apart in the Scottish Cup after the draw for the quarter-finals was made in Glasgow on Sunday afternoon.

Celtic will face St Mirren at Parkhead in the next round of the competition after thrashing Inverness 6-0 at home.

Moussa Dembele scored his second successive hat-trick as the runaway Premiership leaders cruised to victory on Saturday afternoon.

Rangers, meanwhile, will play either Dunfermline or Hamilton Academical after narrowly beating Greenock Morton 2-1 at Ibrox on Sunday.

Kenny Miller and Martyn Waghorn both scored as the Gers battled back to claim victory after Michael Tidser's early goal.

Holders Hibernian will face either Ayr United or Clyde if they can overcome cross-city rivals Hearts in a replay on February 22 after the two sides shared a goalless draw at Tynecastle on Sunday.

Elsewhere, seven-time winners Aberdeen take on Partick Thistle in an all Premiership tie at Pittodrie.

All four quarter-final ties will be played over the weekend of March 4 and 5.
