Daniel Sturridge missed a sitter for Liverpool as they were beaten 2-1 by Chelsea in the Carabao Cup third round.
Sturridge, making a rare start for the Reds, found himself with an open goal gaping after attempting to round Willy Caballero early in the second half at Anfield.
He was forced slightly wide, but swiveled and shot wide of the goal, seemingly unaware of the time and space he had to finish into the empty net.
Sturridge made amends 13 minutes later, acrobatically scoring into an empty net to put Liverpool ahead, but the hosts were eventually knocked out as late goals from Emerson and Eden Hazard gave Chelsea victory.
