Team news, stats and prediction ahead of Crystal Palace vs Brighton in the Premier League, live on Monday Night Football.

Team news

Crystal Palace remain without a handful of defenders for Monday's derby date with Brighton. Mamadou Sakho will sit out the Premier League clash as he serves the second of his three-match ban for a red card in the 1-0 win over Bournemouth.

A look at some of the key stats surrounding this weekend's Premier League action, including Liverpool’s match against Watford and Manchester City’s trip to Arsenal

Joel Ward (knee), Patrick van Aanholt (hamstring) and Jeffrey Schlupp (muscle) are also sidelined and that leaves boss Roy Hodgson with a selection problem at left-back.

Ex-Ajax defender Jairo Riedewald filled the void off the bench at Watford last weekend and is set to provide cover in that position against the Seagulls.

Ahead of his 100th game as Crystal Palace manager, Roy Hodgson insisted he has no plans to look elsewhere and remains happy at the club

Brighton will give striker Aaron Connolly as much time as possible to prove his fitness ahead of the trip to Selhurst Park. Connolly is a doubt after missing Albion's draw with Wolves because of a groin problem, while Solly March remains sidelined by a similar issue.

Seagulls midfielder Dale Stephens serves a one-match ban after collecting his fifth yellow card of the campaign. Jose Izquierdo (knee) is still out.

This fixture always seems to be feisty and passionate. Brighton are a different team, they are a positive and a get-on-the-ball side but Crystal Palace have a really nice balance at the moment. They are both in league positions you would not have expected. Their points level is way ahead of schedule and they have nice gaps to everybody else. Will Brighton, the way they play in this situation, have enough on the ball?

These are the games that inspirational individuals turn up and make the difference. This day will belong to Wilfried Zaha and Palace will win.

CHARLIE PREDICTS: 2-1 (12/1 with Sky Bet)
