Christian Eriksen scores a brilliant goal

Tottenham's Christian Eriksen scored a brilliant solo goal for Denmark against Kazakhstan on Friday night.

The midfielder had already slotted home a 36th-minute penalty in the World Cup Qualifier in Copenhagen, but he sealed a 4-1 victory with a superb strike in added time.

He collected the ball inside the centre circle and, instead of passing to team-mates positioned ahead of him, he opted to run at the Kazakh defence.

Eriksen showed tremendous skill to dart between a couple of defenders before finishing past goalkeeper Stas Pokatilov.

Striker Andreas Cornelius had put the home side ahead after 15 minutes but the Kazakhs struck back two minutes later through defender Gafurzhan Suyumbayev, who fired home a swerving long-distance shot.

Cornelius was at the heart of the action again as he was dragged down in the box nine minutes before halftime and Eriksen converted the resulting spot kick.

A goal from defender Peter Ankersen put the game out of reach in the second half before Eriksen's brilliant goal capped the result.
