The pressure continues to mount on Patrick Vieira as his New York City FC side are now seven games without an MLS win after a 1-1 draw with Montreal Impact.
New York were on course to end their drought when RJ Allen slotted them ahead just after the break, but they suffered heartache in time added on as Dominic Oduro headed home a free-kick from close range.
The former France, Arsenal and Juventus star insisted that his team's league position was not a true reflection of their play.
"We are in a period where everything is going against us," Vieira said.
"But we will stick together, we will fight together and we will turn it around. We showed that by the way we played tonight.
"I'm feeling sorry for the players because they worked so hard and worked so well. They deserve more than they are getting at the moment."
Vieira said City's long run of matches without a win was starting to foster anxiety amongst his players.
"I think you could see that tonight," he said. "When you look at our last 10-15 minutes, you could see how tense the players are because they wanted it so much.
"When you're in a situation like this it can freeze you when things are not going your way. It's a difficult situation no doubt about it but we'll come through it."
New England Revolution also scored a last-gasp leveller to earn a 1-1 draw, denying Portland Timbers.
Jack Barmby, son of former England international Nick, put the Timbers ahead midway through the second half, but Jermaine Taylor's 89th-minute own goal handed the Revs a sixth draw of the season.
Vancouver White Caps and Sporting Kansas City also drew 1-1.
Christian Bolanos put the White Caps in front in the 14th minute with Diego Rubio soon levelling for City, who played against 10 men for the final 39 minutes following Kendall Waston's dismissal.
