Northern Ireland midfielder Chris Baird was on the end of one of the more bizarre red cards in the draw with Hungary on Monday.
The Derby County midfielder was shown two yellow cards by Turkish referee Cuneyt Cakir for fouls that took place within seconds of each other - even though play was not stopped for the first foul.
However, as manager Michael O'Neill pointed out after the European Qualifier at Windsor Park, had the player known he was going to be booked for his first tackle, he would not have made the second infringement.
"I have never seen a player booked twice for the one incident, which is new to me," said O'Neill. "I said to the referee, 'I do not agree with it'.
"Chris would not have made the second tackle if he knew he was booked for the first tackle. So it is a bizarre situation to see that and I have never seen that happen before."
