Chris Coleman hails Wales' 'golden generation' but warns of opponents' approach at Euro 2016

Chris Coleman and Ashley Williams explain how proud they are after Wales qualified for Euro 2016

Wales manager Chris Coleman said his side deserved the tag of 'golden generation' - but admitted they have plenty of work to do ahead of Euro 2016.

Aaron Ramsey and Gareth Bale scored to give the hosts a 2-0 win over Andorra on Tuesday night, but not before they had endured a frustrating opening 45 minutes when they couldn't find a way through.

Wales secured their Euro 2016 qualification on Saturday, despite a defeat to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Coleman is wary of sides setting up to frustrate them.

"We played Israel here and they played the same as Andorra did tonight," he said.

"We've got to work out how we're going to break teams down in some games. We're used to being the underdogs.

Throughout their European Qualifiers campaign, Coleman has hailed the squad's unity as they've battled to reach a major finals for the first time in 58 years.

Wales kept seven clean sheets in their 10 matches, including two against Group B winners Belgium, and the manager believes his squad lived up to the hype.

"This is the best group of players, with an incredible mentality," he added.

Wales have qualified for their first major tournament since 1958

"They were labelled the golden generation before they'd actually earned it - now they've earned it and they deserve it.

"You get team spirit from working hard for each other on the pitch, and coming through tough situations and big challenges, and they've done it time after time.

"That's why they're so together and that's why they've had the success. It's not just the talent they've got, it's their mentality towards the job."
