SSN HQ Chief News Reporter Bryan Swanson reveals the latest surrounding Sam Allardyce and an undercover newspaper investigation into alleged football corruption

The Football Association has not yet received transcripts and footage in relation to an undercover newspaper investigation into alleged football corruption, delaying any potential probe into former England manager Sam Allardyce.

The City of London Police has opened a criminal case into a single suspected offence of bribery following the Daily Telegraph's investigation.

Allardyce has been informed he is not under police investigation, but may yet face action from English football's governing body.

"I was always confident… there was no evidence against me," Allardyce said in a statement on Friday. "I now ask that the Football Association deals with the matter as quickly as possible."

Allardyce has denied wrongdoing and it is understood the FA will only launch its own internal investigation when it has received evidence relating to all parties involved in the Daily Telegraph investigation.
