We asked skysports.com readers to vote on whether Sam Allardyce should bring John Terry out of international retirement - and the result was extremely close.

The Chelsea captain hasn't played for his country since 2012, following an FA charge for misconduct, but newly-appointed Allardyce said this week he may consider getting in touch with Terry.

The 35-year-old remains a first-choice pick at Chelsea and would bring much-needed experience to the England camp.

However, Terry's relationship with the FA may remain an issue and, after Roy Hodgson selected a young squad for Euro 2016, there is also an argument the next generation deserve their chance to impress ahead of the 2018 World Cup.

It seems football fans are split on the topic. In a poll run on skysports.com earlier this week over 36,000 people voted on whether Allardyce should bring Terry out of international retirement - and there was just a two per cent difference in opinion.
