Paul Clement has wished Sam Allardyce well in his new role as England manager after rejecting the chance to join his coaching staff.
Allardyce, who was confirmed as Roy Hodgson's successor last month, hoped to appoint the Bayern Munich assistant to his backroom staff ahead of his first match in charge against Slovakia on September 4.
The Football Association attempted to strike a deal with the German champions that would have seen Clement handed a part-time role during the international breaks.
However Clement, who was sacked by Championship side Derby last season, turned down the opportunity and insists his focus is solely on Bayern, where he will assist new head-coach Carlo Ancelotti at the Allianz Arena.
"Following recent media reports I would like to clarify the situation with regards to a possible role with the England national team," Clement, who has previously worked as an assistant to Ancelotti at Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, said via Twitter.
"After consultation between FC Bayern, the FA and myself it was decided that it is in the best interests of everyone involved for me to concentrate solely on the job I have in Munich.
"I would like to wish success to Sam, the FA and the England team."
Allardyce has already appointed former Bolton colleague Sammy Lee as his assistant coach.
