James Milner: Maybe it's time to end my England career

James Milner has hinted that his international days may be over, saying he did not want to deny younger talent their place in future England squads.

The Liverpool midfielder was only given three minutes of game time by former manager Roy Hodgson during England's ill-fated trip to the Euro 2016 finals earlier this summer.

Milner, now 30, has 61 caps to his name but admits his international career maybe drawing to a close.

He said: "Over the last couple of years with the England team I have not really played too much.

It is pointless me taking up a spot just because I am reliable.
