England trained in public on Tuesday morning for the first time since arriving at their Euro 2016 base in Chantilly.

Roy Hodgson and his staff began the session in front of a group of invited spectators four days before England take on Russia in their Group B opener in Marseille.

And there was a warm welcome from local schoolchildren who sang the English national anthem and held up messages of support.

Ryan Bertrand trained separately with physio Gary Lewin, but the Southampton left-back's unspecified niggle is not expected to keep him out this weekend.

Jamie Vardy was out with the rest of the squad, meanwhile, as he continues to deliberate over whether to leave Leicester for Arsenal.

Hodgson has repeatedly made it clear he does not want his players negotiating transfers during the tournament, so in theory Vardy must sort out any move within three days or wait until later this summer.
