Sepp Blatter's latest appeal against his ban from football will be heard at the Court of Arbitration for Sport on August 25.

The former FIFA president was banned for eight years - later reduced to six - over an illicit payment to UEFA counterpart Michel Platini in 2011.

All avenues of appeal through FIFA have now been exhausted, leaving Blatter to fight his case at sport's highest court next month.

Platini has already gone down a similar route without success, although a CAS panel did further reduce his ban to four years.

The Frenchman formally stepped down as UEFA boss following that verdict but has vowed to continue his fight through the Swiss legal system.
