Steve Coppell has agreed to take over as manager of Indian Super League (ISL) side Kerala Blasters, Sky sources understand.
The former Crystal Palace and Reading boss is set to be confirmed as the new manager of the Cochin-based outfit - co-owned by Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar - this week, ahead of the third edition of the ISL.
Coppell will become Kerala's third English manager, following on from former England U21 and Leicester boss Peter Taylor who took charge of the club last season.
Taylor, who left midway through last season and was replaced by former Chelsea and Man City full-back Terry Phelan, succeeded ex-Liverpool and West Ham goalkeeper David James.
James was Blasters' player-manager for the inaugural edition of the ISL in 2014 and guided the Yellow Army to the final where they lost 1-0 to Atletico Kolkata after a last-minute winner from Mohammed Rafi.
Coppell brings a wealth of managerial experience having previously been boss of clubs including Man City, Brentford, Bristol City and Brighton.
The 60-year-old had an 18-month spell as Crawley Town's Director of Football, ending in 2013, followed by a short stint in a similar role at Portsmouth.
