Cristiano Ronaldo headed in his 126th Champions Leauge goal, with the goal standing after referee Clement Turpin consulted his VAR officials with Ajax's Joel Veltman going down inside the box. But Spurs' passage into the semis was only confirmed after Sterling was denied a stoppage time winner with a VAR check ruling Aguero was offside in the build-up. After jubilant celebrations from the home fans, players and staff, it was agony when realising their quadruple hopes had been dashed.
