Sergio Ramos has wished Mohamed Salah well with his recovery as the Egypt international faces a race against time to be fit for the World Cup.

Salah was forced off with a suspected dislocated shoulder after half an hour of Liverpool's 3-1 Champions League defeat to Real Madrid on Saturday following a challenge from Ramos.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was not optimistic of Salah's chances of featuring for Egypt at this summer's World Cup, with their campaign set to get underway against Uruguay in just under three weeks.

Ramos, a four-time Champions League winner, took to Twitter after the match: "Sometimes football shows you its good side and others the bad. Above all we are fellow pros. Get well soon, Salah. The future awaits you."

Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum believes Salah's exit was detrimental to their performance, admitting the players were affected when he came off.

"I think it was a big blow for us, it seemed like a big blow for us the way the way we reacted after his injury," said Wijnaldum.

"I think when he was on the pitch we did it well for 25 minutes but (after the injury) there was less than before.
