Chelsea loanee Fankaty Dabo had a moment to forget as he scored a bizarre 40-yard own goal for Vitesse Arnhem on Sunday.
Groningen twice came from behind to end their five-match winless run with a 4-2 victory over Vitesse, and were helped on their way with the score at 1-0 to the visitors by defender Dabo.
Dabo, picking the ball up on the right flank, attempted to find his goalkeeper from the touchline, but put too much on his pass, seeing it fly over Jeroen Houwen and into the net.
The goal brings back memories of Geoffrey Kondogbia's long-range own goal while playing for Inter Milan against Chelsea in the summer.
Kondogbia, now at Valencia, looped the ball over his own goalkeeper and into the top corner from fully 40 yards.
