Inter Milan have bolstered their squad with the signing of Croatia international Marcelo Brozovic on a two-year loan with the option for a permanent deal.

The 22-year-old midfielder has left Dinamo Zagreb to join Roberto Mancini's side, who are struggling to keep pace with the Serie A leaders following a run of just two wins in their last 11 league outings.

A statement on Inter's official website read: "Marcelo Brozovic is now an Inter player. FC Internazionale is pleased to announce that the 22-year-old Croatian midfielder has joined on a two-year loan deal with a conditional obligation to make the move permanent."

Brozovic scored 14 goals in 102 appearances for Dinamo after joining from Lokomotiva in August 2012. He has won seven caps for Croatia and was part of Niko Kovac's World Cup squad in Brazil last summer.

Brozovic told Dinamo's official website: "I'm happy and sad at once. Dinamo is my club and I leave here many friends who I will miss, but on the other hand I am happy because I go to a great team and a strong league where I'm waiting for new challenges.

"Of course, Dinamo will always be my club, but so it is in football and I look forward to going to Italy."

Zagreb coach Zoran Mamic added: "Thanks to Marcel for everything he has done for Dinamo in the name of the club and we personally wish him good luck in his future career.

"Remember, Marcelo came to Dinamo from Locomotives in the summer of 2012, and in two and a half years with the blue team he has played in the Champions League group and the European League and won two Croatian league titles."

Inter currently sit 10th in Serie A and are level on points with city rivals AC Milan ahead of Sunday's clash at Sassuolo.
