Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos sent off for 18th time

Sergio Ramos received his 18th career red card in Real Madrid's win over Deportivo

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos earned the 18th red card of his career as the La Liga champions kicked off the defence of their title by beating Deportivo La Coruna 3-0 at the Riazor on Sunday night.

The Spain international was lucky not to have been sent off earlier in the game following an incident with Depor's Fabian Schar for which the centre back only received a booking for.

However, Ramos's luck ran out in injury time when the defender was sent off after picking up a second booking following an aerial challenge with Borja Valle.
