Dominique Malonga saw his penalty saved as Hibernian were held to a goalless draw at home by Dumbarton in the Scottish Championship.
The Hibs striker was adjudged to have been fouled in the box by Scott Taggart in the 41st minute but his penalty was saved by Dumbarton keeper Danny Rogers.
The Congo striker's spot-kick nearly slipped through Rogers’ grasp, but the Dumbarton stopper caught the ball just before it crossed the line, the Hibs players unsuccessfully appealing to referee Barry Cook that it had gone over.
Rogers had earlier tipped a great strike from Dylan McGeouch over the bar, one of several saves as Hibs enjoyed most of the first-half pressure and poured forward late on in search of a winner.
The Dumbarton keeper's string of saves helped his side extend their unbeaten run to six matches.
Early on in the match at Easter Road, Liam Craig had seen a shot saved well by Rogers and his team-mate David
Gray pulled a shot wide from close range.
Hibs' Jason Cummings, October's Championship Young Player of the Month, lashed a great chance over and Rogers was tested again as Lewis Stevenson was denied.
Craig and Paul Hanlon were also frustrated by Rogers late on as Dumbarton held on for a point.
