Kilmarnock manager Steve Clarke would find it hard to turn down the Scotland job if he was offered it, says his assistant manager Alex Dyer.
Clarke, along with Aberdeen's Derek McInnes and Scotland U21's Scot Gemmill, are the leading candidates to become the next manager of the national side, with SFA bosses set to make their decision early next week.
Former West Brom and Reading boss Clarke has previously admitted his ambitions to manage Scotland "at some stage", after Alex McLeish was relieved of his duties last month.
"I know Steve's ability, I know he's a good manager - a very good manager," Dyer said.
"If the country comes for him then it will be a great honour and I know he knows that. He's done a great job here. He's always left it open that he will decide at the end of the season. That's no secret.
"At the end of the day, (the Scotland job is) a hard one to turn down. It's the pinnacle of every manager's career.
"We'll just leave it up to the gaffer and what will be will be."
