Rangers have announced the signing of Jake Hastie from Motherwell on a four-year deal.

The 20-year-old winger has signed a pre-contract agreement and will join Steven Gerrard's side when his deal at Fir Park ends this summer.

After spending the first part of the season at Championship side Alloa Athletic, Hastie became a key part of Motherwell's team on his return in January, scoring seven goals in 17 appearances.

A product of the academy since the age of nine, the two clubs will now try and agree a suitable compensation package that is acceptable to both parties.

On today's announcement, Rangers boss Gerrard said: "We're delighted to be able to add Jake to the squad next season.

"He is a talented young player who has performed well for Motherwell in the second half of this season.

"We are always looking to add individuals to our group of players who will improve us and Jake will undoubtedly do that."
