Celtic will pay a special tribute to Lisbon Lions Billy McNeill and Steve Chalmers at the Scottish Cup final.

The legendary pair passed away last month and the date of the Scottish Cup final, May 25, marks exactly 52 years after McNeill captained Celtic to victory over Inter Milan in the European Cup final - with Chalmers scoring the decisive goal in the 2-1 win.

As well as having both No 5 and No 9 on their shorts, the Celtic players will walk out at Hampden Park wearing alternate jackets with 'McNeill 5' and 'Chalmers 9' on the back.

Celtic are attempting to win an unprecedented treble-treble when they face Hearts on May 25, having already retained the Scottish Premiership title and Scottish League Cup.

Interim manager Neil Lennon says places are up for grabs in the Scottish Cup final following Sunday's 2-0 defeat to Rangers.

It was Celtic's first domestic defeat of 2019 and Lennon's first since he took over in February.

"We have another big game looming in two weeks' time and I was disappointed with the level of performance," Lennon said. "We got what we deserved.
