Alan Stubbs has called for Rangers to perform a guard of honour for Scottish Premiership champions Celtic at the Old Firm game on Sunday.
Celtic sealed their eighth successive Premiership title with a 3-0 win at Aberdeen last week, staying on track to complete an unprecedented domestic treble-treble if they beat Hearts in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park on May 25.
Stubbs was in charge of Hibernian when Rangers won the Scottish Championship in 2016 - and his side did not perform a guard of honour for their opponents after the title had been secured - but the 47-year-old has called on Rangers to "rise above" when they host Celtic in the Glasgow derby, live on Sky Sports Main Event.
"It applies to both clubs, really, and if it was on the other foot, Rangers would want Celtic to do it," Stubbs told Sky Sports. "I think you have to rise above it and show a little bit of class.
"There's a lot of talk in the game at the moment about sectarianism and all this from the crowds. We have to try and bypass all that.
"Unfortunately I don't think it's going to happen, but at the end of the day I don't think it's going to affect any of the players, especially the Celtic players going there on Sunday.
"It will be about them going there as champions, and that's the biggest compliment that you can give them."
