Scottish Football Hall of Fame have decided to withdraw Paul Gascoigne's nomination due to a number of factors, including "concerns" over the former England and Rangers player's "health".
Gascoigne was one of five to be inducted at the Hampden Park awards dinner on October 21.
It was revealed on Thursday at least one SFA board member would boycott the dinner because he believes Gascoigne's berth is inappropriate.
A statement released by the HOF said: "Further to consultation with the Chair and the Scottish Football Hall of Fame committee, due to a number of factors including ongoing enquiries and concerns over the state of Paul's health, it has been decided to withdraw the nomination of Paul Gascoigne at this time from this year's nomination process."
Gascoigne, who has suffered from alcohol and drug addiction, joined Rangers in a club-record deal from Lazio in 1995 and scored in an early-season 2-0 away win at Celtic.
Nominees for the Scottish Football Hall of Fame are put forward by members of the public as well as an independent committee of ex-players and journalists.
Other famous names who have already been inducted into the Hall of Fame include Matt Busby, Alex Ferguson, Kenny Dalglish, Bill Shankly, Brian Laudrup, Henrik Larsson and Graeme Souness.
