Accrington 0-1 Fleetwood: Harry Souttar header earns win

Highlights of the Sky Bet League One match between Accrington and Fleetwood.

Harry Souttar scored his first Football League goal to keep Fleetwood's faint play-off hopes alive with a 1-0 win at struggling Accrington.

On-loan Stoke defender Souttar powered home a header from a Ross Wallace cross in the 50th minute to make it two wins out of two for Joey Barton's men.

Fleetwood were on top in the early stages, goalkeeper Dimitar Evtimov rushing out to deny Ched Evans while Jack Sowerby headed over when unmarked after 15 minutes.

Stanley's top scorer Billy Kee did have the ball in the net in the 31st minute but he was adjudged to have pushed Fleetwood defender Lewie Coyle.

Accrington came more into it towards the end of the first half, Ross Sykes heading into the arms of Alex Cairns and Sean McConville clearing the crossbar with another headed chance.

Fleetwood started the second half the stronger and were rewarded with the goal.

Stanley, just outside the drop zone, were unlucky not to draw level, with McConville curling an effort just wide and the winger then volleying over at the far post.
