Crawley have rejected £100,000 offer from Notts County for striker Izale McLeod.

County chairman Ray Trew considers the bid to be "rather substantial" and has urged his club's Sky Bet League 2 rivals to have a rethink on the matter.

"I can confirm recent talk on social media platforms that the club is interested in signing Izale McLeod and that we yesterday had a bid of £100,000 rejected by his parent club Crawley Town," Trew told the Nottingham Post.

"We respect their stance but we feel the money on the table is a rather substantial fee for a Football League player and we hope they'll reconsider their stance on this matter."

On Saturday Crawley manager Mark Yates admitted the club had received a bid for their top goal scorer but it did not match their valuation of the 30-year-old.
