WATCH: Ian Henderson miss proves costly for Rochdale

Rochdale spurned a golden opportunity to equalise when Ian Henderson had an open goal in front of him from three yards but somehow fired against the crossbar

Ian Henderson might have got on the scoresheet during Rochdale's 3-2 defeat to Doncaster Rovers but he was also guilty of missing a sitter too.

After going a goal down to their visitors, Rochdale had a golden opportunity to equalise when Henderson found himself in space inside the penalty area late on in the first half.

Brad Inman teed up the midfielder for what looked a simple finish, but his first effort on goal was brilliantly kept out by a goal-line intervention from Rovers' Joe Wright.

The rebound fell straight back to Henderson but he inexplicably hit the top of the bar with his effort and the ball bounced over the top for a goal kick, much to Doncaster's relief.

It proved to be a costly miss as despite Henderson scoring a penalty in the second half, Rochdale slumped to a disappointing home defeat.
