Highly-rated Liverpool youngster Sergi Canos has told Sky Sports he is eager to extend his loan deal at Brentford until the end of the season.

The 18-year-old Spanish youth international, who joined Liverpool from Barcelona in 2013, has made 11 Championship appearances for the Bees since his arrival at the club in August.

Canos is due to return to Liverpool when his loan at Griffin Park expires in January, but he is enjoying his time in west London and hopes to agree an extension before returning to his parent club in the summer.

"I don't know what I'm going to do [in January] but I want to stay here," he said. "I want to keep playing in the Championship and hopefully at Brentford. For me this opportunity is amazing. I'm growing a lot as a player so I want to stay."

Canos does not turn 19 until February but he has impressed for Brentford and scored his first goal for the club in their 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
