Cheltenham have signed goalkeeper Scott Flinders on a free transfer.

The 31-year-old was released by York at the end of last season but is now back in the Football League with the Robins.

The length of the deal has not been disclosed, but Cheltenham boss Gary Johnson told the club's official website: "We're very pleased that Scott has agreed to join and his experience should be very beneficial to us.

"Scott has played over 400 league and cup games in his career and there is no substitute for experience.

"My staff and I have watched many of those games, a few live in the past and also on our recruitment database, so we know exactly what we are getting with him.
