David Brooks says he "cannot wait" for the challenge of Premier League football after joining Bournemouth.
Brooks, who signed a four-deal with the Cherries from Sheffield United, became manager Eddie Howe's first signing of the summer on Sunday.
The 20-year-old has three caps for Wales after making his international debut in November 2017 and scored three goals in 33 appearances for the Blades.
Bournemouth begin their 2018/19 Premier League campaign at home to Cardiff City on August 11, and Brooks is keen to get started on the south coast.
"I can't wait for the challenge [of the Premier League]," said Brooks in his first news conference at the club.
"I've come here to play and hopefully I can make an impression in the coming weeks, cement my place within the group and try and get some game time during the season."
He added: "As a player you want to be at the highest level as possible so the first step is to play in the Premier League."
Brooks says Howe's presence at the club was a major factor of him signing for them, after previous opportunities the manager has given youth players.
"Eddie Howe was a big one, the chance he gave Lewis Cook and everything about it, I just thought it was the right fit for me.
"He (Howe) made it clear there was a lot of individual training going on, alongside the team mentality and what happens with the team and I think for myself, you want to the best player you can be.
"With the opportunities to play if you're ready and good enough, it was something that definitely intrigued me."
