Eddie Howe calls Bournemouth's win over Everton the 'complete performance'

Post-match reaction from Eddie Howe after Bournemouth’s 1-0 victory over Everton

Eddie Howe called Bournemouth’s win over Everton “the complete performance” and hailed his team’s spirit after a tough week.

The 1-0 victory ended a run of two straight defeats for the Cherries, who had also lost nine of their last 13 Premier League games going into this game.

Junior Stanislas, who netted a late equaliser in this corresponding fixture last season, struck midway through a first-half, which saw the hosts hit the woodwork twice.

"It was our best performance of the season so far - all parts of our team functioned," Howe said.

"It's very pleasing to see players respond from a setback because it's very easy to do it when you're in a great moment. It's been a tough week with two tough defeats but the players had to dig deep and they did it in style."

Bournemouth dominated the midfield battle with Harry Arter and on-loan Jack Wilshere forming a good understanding.

It was Wilshere's first start at home in the league for Bournemouth since arriving from Arsenal and Howe thinks the crowd will have enjoyed what they saw.

"I was delighted with his performance today," Howe said.

"From start to finish, he was excellent. He's a real key player for us in terms of the way we keep the ball.

"He also worked incredibly hard and played with the philosophy we want off the ball. His fitness levels were very high as well. It's been a great day for him."
