Jack Wilshere has trained with his new Bournemouth team-mates for the first time following his Deadline Day loan move from Arsenal.
The England midfielder opted to pursue regular first-team football on the south coast ahead of a number of clubs including Crystal Palace, Roma and AC Milan.
Portuguese giants Benfica and Sporting Lisbon were also interested in securing the services of the 24-year-old but Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe believes the move is ideal for both parties.
After putting his latest acquisition through his paces alongside a vastly-reduced squad, Howe is in no doubt to the impact Wilshere can have on his side.
"This is a big one for us," said Howe, who has 10 members of his senior party away on international duty. "Jack is on his own in terms of profile and that is the type of player we can now attract.
"This can work for both sides. he can definitely complement our style of football, the way we play, and add that missing piece of the jigsaw that we need, while we can give him a platform to deliver his very best."
