Huddersfield face an anxious wait to learn the extent of Jonathan Hogg's injury after the midfielder was on the receiving end of a bad tackle from Davy Propper in their 1-1 draw at Brighton.
Propper was shown a straight red card with 14 minutes remaining at the Amex Stadium after leading with his studs in a 50-50 challenge with Hogg and, while the Terriers captain was initially able to play on, he was eventually replaced by Philip Billing.
Huddersfield have already been dealt a blow in their bid for Premier League survival after Elias Kachunga was ruled out for the rest of the season with an ankle injury, and manager David Wagner was unimpressed by Propper's challenge.
When asked about the extent of the damage to Hogg's leg, the manager said: "We have to make a first assessment. We hope it's not as serious as the tackle looked, to be perfectly honest.
"Usually I don't like to say or give any comments but last week we lost Kachunga for three months after a harsh tackle (by Newcastle's on-loan winger Kenedy) and this was another one.
"I accept aggression and to fight for each ball, but this is too dangerous."
Huddersfield ended their goal drought stretching back to a 2-1 win over West Brom in February as Steve Mounie pounced on a mistake by Shane Duffy to cancel out Brighton's opener, which arrived in slightly fortuitous circumstances.
Solly March's speculative drive from 25 yards was tipped onto the post by Jonas Lossl but the ball trickled over the line via the Danish goalkeeper's outstretched arm after 29 minutes. The visitors showed their fighting qualities, however, to equalise just four minutes later.
Wagner was delighted with the response, adding: "I'm pleased with how we bounced back. We've been in a difficult moment and this was great.
"Some people said at the beginning of the season that we were completely inexperienced so an away point in this league is always good. It could be a crucial point come the end of the season.
"I'm pleased with the performance the players have shown. Brighton away is not the easiest place to go. They've shown bravery and we've played some decent football and I think we absolutely deserved this point."
