David Wagner impressed with Huddersfield defence at Burnley

Huddersfield boss David Wagner said it was a deserved point for his side

David Wagner praised Huddersfield's defensive showing after they claimed a point from a 0-0 draw at Burnley on Saturday.

Chances were few and far between in a tight game at Turf Moor, with Terriers defender Christopher Schindler the standout performer.

The clean sheet is newly-promoted Huddersfield's fourth from six Premier League matches.

Huddersfield boss Wagner told Sky Sports: "I think the most important thing to be competitive is to be difficult to break down and to be very concentrated and focused over the whole time as a defence.

"We live from our working attitude and togetherness, particularly in the defence, so everybody feels the responsibility and makes the dirty yards. That is why we have four clean sheets from six Premier League games. That is very good and we have to make sure we continue."

But Wagner took positives from the display at Turf Moor, saying: "I was very pleased with our defensive work in the first half.

"We were a little bit too sloppy in possession, we made too many easy mistakes, as we did in the last away game against West Ham, but we spoke about it and in the second half the players did it much better and we were able to create our moments.

"Burnley is a difficult place to go, you will not get a lot of chances, the one or two we had we were not clinical enough, I'm OK with the result and very pleased with the effort."
